Court date set... Ghana here we come!

We FINALLY got the date... June 14th!!
We leave for Ghana in less than 3 weeks!!!
It's been over 24 hours and I still feel like my head is spinning and my feet have yet to touch the ground.  Sol is still in shock... a very HAPPY shock.

The moment has finally come!!

I'm speechless...
Would you mind taking a moment to rejoice with us?

It has been one long journey of waiting, hoping and trusting.
Lessons of listening to God's voice and obeying it even when it didn't make sense has grown our faith in so many ways.... and yet we are still learning to trust HIM every step of the way.  I can't even begin to thank HIM enough for all the prayers He has answered so far.  HE didn't have to answer so specifically and go above and beyond for us, but HE did.  HE did it because HE loves us and HE cares for these children.

One of my dear friends cried with me over the phone yesterday and told me it was as if we found out we were pregnant with quadruplets.  Quadruplets that we have been praying and waiting for.  I can't explain the feeling, but I can tell you that just as pregnancy stretches a mother's belly to provide space for the growing baby, our hearts have stretched far more than enough to love and embrace these children whom we have never met.

We are truly grateful and EXCITED for the upcoming journey that's ahead!  There is ALOT that needs to get done within these next few weeks, so PLEASE continue to pray for our family.

1. Pray for visas to be processed quickly
2. Pray for our children as they receive this good news
3. Pray for God's continual provision for all that we need to do to prepare for our trip; One of our hopes is that we can also bring meaningful gifts for each child in our children's neighborhood.
4. Although we have not met our fundraising goal, we believe God will provide for us every step of the way. Please continue to join us in praying that He would provide enough funds for us during this first trip to Ghana.
5. Pray for all of us to stay healthy!!

We will keep you posted!!

  2. It has been SO AMAZING and SUCH A PRIVELEGE to see how God has been answering all of your prayers as you obediently listened and stepped out in faith, even when things did not seem to fully make sense. We will continue to pray, and look forward to seeing how God continues to bless your family.

I want you to know I am earnestly praying for you guys!! I believe God is faithful, I believe He will provide, but I can't imagine the confusion & pain this is causing you all! 7. Our God is mighty to save!
I don't know you, but I'm praying for you. I found out about you from the No Greater Joy blog.

I also have a verse from Isaiah for you - "Behold, the Lord's hand is not so short that it cannot save; Nor His ear so dull that it cannot hear" Isaiah 59:1 I'm praying for supernatural protection for you and especially your children and that you will be immediately reunited with them. I don't understand the hows or whys, but I know God's word is true and it says, "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28
Somehow God will cause good to come from this. May His name alone be glorified!
I'll be praying and praying for you all - Ashley

  28. Sol & Christine, I just found you guys from Adeye's blog. I'm
Sure that at this moment you have no idea how many brothers and sisters in Christ are lifting you up to our Father all over the world right now. As I scrolled through your recent posts I found the passage you quoted from Zephaniah... "the Lord your God is in your midst, a victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy"
The Lord has not forsaken you. He is with you. Praying for you and your precious children, that you will be reunited with them today.

  30. I'm thinking that maybe you really DID engage in human trafficking -- and therefore do deserve to be held in jail until your trial. The reason I think this is that sometimes godly self-proclaimed Christians who are evangelical about the so-called orphan crisis tend to take an "ends justify the means approach" -- read: who cares if a law is broken!! Orphans must be saved!! I have god on my side, so ignoring mans laws is ok!!

(kinda like how Reece's rainbow blatantly breaks tge law by illegally photolisting kids in Serbia Bulgaria Russia and Ukraine, countries in which only the govt is allowed to photolist. And all over RR pap blogs! And allegedly use missionaries like one heart Bulgaria and team works Ukraine to illegal get photos and private medical info on kid's to give to RR and/or PAPs to help them pre select a kid to adopt... Despite the fact that pre selecting kids to adopt is also illegal!!!

Also, FYI the Moghadams are not adopting from Europe.

Praying for this family. Especially their 2 american born children who have no way of knowing what is going on right now. May the lord keep them safe and get them home ASAP!

One thing I hope people do learn from this is is NOT to take their current children with them on adoption trips. This family made a naive mistake but others can learn from it.

Your story is making the rounds -- giving a voice for the children's story to be told around the world. We pray for your strength as the world learns through your experiences how needy these children and how difficult it is to help. May the Lord provide safety for all and a quick return home.

  37. PRAYING for strength, and for the Lord to protect, sustain and uplift you and your family during this very scary time. We have your back, but more importantly, so does Heavenly Father!

    Psalms 119:86-89
All your commands are trustworthy; help me, for men persecute me without cause. They almost wiped me from the earth, but I have not forsaken your precepts. Preserve my life according to your love, and I will obey the statutes of your mouth. Your word, O LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.

  38. For shame to those who go around to sites just to post unkind thoughts of judgment with no facts of their own to stand by. My own heart, thoughts, prayers, and blessings are pouring into you and all of your blessed children and placing a wall between those who only want to harm and do evil doings instead of the grace and love and joy in giving that you and your family seek to share. Many, many blessings to you. May those who are blind see the light.

I was able to share your story and there are people praying all over the world for you! "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea." Psalm 46:1-2

  44. I've heard about your terrible plight through a missionary friend of mine here in South Africa. Praying for your family in earnest, that God would intervene. You have such a powerful witness through all your writings. So many unspoken prayers answered, and you're able to look back and count them, as you've written them down. I can only agree with Ashley's post and scripture she gave. And tonight also Ps23 springs to mind. May you look back in future on these comments and praise God for His provision.

  49. Praying for you all!!!

By the way, I am wondering if that is the same Anonomous that posted this to my blog,

"So great that you're purchasing a child!! That upwards of $50k will be spent supporting crime corruption and human trafficking -- you know, the. Evils directly associated with adopting from Ethiopia?! YOu must be thrilled!!!

This godly Christian family stepped out in faith to adopt an Ethiopian 8 yr old girl (whose parents had died! Genuine orphan!! Jesus tells you to care for!!) who came home with RAD. And killed their dog (a sweet lil 15 yr old mutt they'd had since she was 8 wks old). There's no help to be found -- no reidential treatment facility will take her. Insurance wont cover it. These APs now lock up their knives and try not to think that the girl tortured their cat. Or might try to hurt them or their bio daughter in the night). The mom blogs at christalljasongrace.blogspot.com"

Without thoughtful solutions and a name, you render yourself an outlier. It is apparent you have bitterness over something in your own life.

Christine and Sol... God Bless and God speed. Praise be to Him for your hearts towards the orphan.

  50. We have stormed the gates of heaven on your behalf. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! Your family is doing something SO effective for the kingdom that satan has had his hand in this. Your adoptive children and family are easy targets for satan's work and he does not want your family to speak the name of JESUS into their hearts! DO NOT LISTEN AND TAKE HEART THE WORDS OF ANYONE TRYING TO BRING YOU DOWN! They are doing the work of satan and need our prayers as well. The Lord will fight on your behalf, but you have to grab onto that rope He's throwing to you and NEVER let go. GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME! Praise HIM because of the persecution you are going through because you are doing the work of our Father!!! Ha Ha Ha!!! The Bible says that the Lord inhabits our praises so SING LOUD!!!

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Eph 6:12

  58. God will use this for His glory, and the shame of satan! think about it: God put the tree in the garden, and since He is all knowing, He knew that satan would tempt eve and her and adam would eat, and He knew that He would use Christ who was at His right hand (in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God, and the Word was with God) to be a substitute for our death/sins, and ultimately destroy satan. so, while satan was doing all this, trying to destroy God's creation/His children, He knew that satan's scheme was going the ultimately be the thing God used to destroy him!
we are all praying for you all for strength, comfort, and peace. God will use this for His good, and the enemy's defeat! :)
